Pathfinder Flying Club

Royal Air Force Wyton

There is an annual membership rate for military and civilian members. It is currently £120 for servicemen and £150 for civilian members.

As a member of another RAF Flying Club, you can use the privileges of reciprocal membership through the RAF Flying Clubs Association (RAFFCA) until your existing membership expires; However, for insurance and next of kin reasons you must fill out a Club Membership Form and provide full details of your existing club membership before you can fly with the Club.

Prospective members should endeavor to visit the clubroom (see maps at Annex B for location) and speak with a club official or instructor to discuss membership. Forms and membership details are readily available in the club buildings, and any questions you may have can be addressed. Alternatively, please feel free to contact one of the club officials to arrange a time to meet.

Frequently Asked Questions

All regular Service personnel are eligible to join the club. Members of the Reserve Forces and Service youth organizations (eg CCF and ATC) may also join. Membership is open to civilians but their numbers are strictly limited by RAF regulations and priority is given to Service dependants, retired Service personnel, Civil Service and locally employed contractor staffs. Prospective civilian members will be assessed for membership on what they can offer the Club with places limited to ensure that Service personnel remain in the majority of membership numbers.

How do I book a flight?

All booking is done through an internet based system. This is convenient, quick, and allows you to easily see the availability of aircraft and instructors. If you do not have access to the internet at home or work, you can access using the computer in the Club Operations Room. The internet system is via www.e-allocator.com. When your membership is processed, the Secretary will provide your unique personal log-in and password to book flights. Should you experience problems or have any queries with e-allocator please get in touch with the Membership Secretary.

How do I keep in touch?

Apart from attending the Club and keeping an eye on the Pigeonholes for any messages, there is an Internet-based Club Group messaging System to disseminate all messages relating to Club activities. These range from occasional Plight Safety matters, to any limitations in aircraft availability, to the Duty Pilot-roster and for members to arrange last minute changes to these duties if problems crop up. Normally, you would be signed up to this system automatically on the e-mail address you give the Club when you join.
